Oh man, it’s that time of year again!
Football officially started last Thursday but for those of us who aren’t Broncos or Ravens fans, today is the day of all days! If you’re like me, a person whose life revolves around the fall season when football is on the television, beer in hand and jersey on, this is what it’s all about. Man oh man, do I love listening to teams chant, preach and motivate before a game. Music to my ears
As many of you know, I’m a die-hard Chiefs fan. Last year was a rough year for the Chiefs and their fans. We came into the season as a top contender for a Division win, only to finish last. No one wants to finish last, especially when you go into a season with such high hopes.
I was devastated. I felt as if the team, who had all the talent in the world, didn’t take advantage of it. Now of course we had a quarterback who couldn’t even put his hat on correctly, but he wasn’t the only one losing games for the Chiefs. I believe the team didn’t have the confidence that we all assumed they had. We had a Head Coach, who truly had good intentions, but wasn’t meant to be anything but a DC.
The off season brought forth a new ray of light, a new hope, that this season would be different. We brought in a new coach, new players and a new sense of confidence. I’m excited for this year. The Chiefs can only go up from here. We have a quarterback who can actually throw a complete pass, in the right direction without fumbling…that’s a start
So on this Football Sunday, I say GO CHIEFS! I will still be here, rooting for the team that I’ve loved for 8 years!
